While our industry undergoes a transformative shift amid the new regulatory environment, it is essential that we all contribute to helping ensure that e-cigs and other vapor products stay on the market for years to come.
we will use our resources to press for reasonable and fair regulations that will allow for continued modernization of e-cigarettes
—John Wiesehan, Jr.
As one of the largest independent vapor companies, we now are a member of the Vapor Technology Association (VTA), an organization that focuses on advocacy efforts aimed at educating and lobbying federal and state lawmakers to protect our industry.
Together we will use our resources to press for reasonable and fair regulations that will allow for continued modernization of e-cigarettes, and push for passage of the Cole-Bishop Amendment, legislation that offers a more viable substantial equivalency pathway to market.
But we can’t do it alone. Consumers have a strong voice that needs to be heard in Washington, D.C. There are many ways to get involved, such as writing a letter to congressmen or senators asking for their support of the Cole-Bishop Amendment and to protect vapor products. In fact, the VTA has made it easy for constituents to contact their federal elected officials by entering an address here.
Social media also helps. Vapers might be interested in participating in the VTA’s social media campaign on Thunderclap directed at Congress. It only takes a few clicks to join and you’ll be on your way to helping save vapor!
Advocacy matters to all of us, whether we are makers of vapor products or consumers who use them. We all have a vested stake in the outcome of our industry and to help ensure that vapor products remain on the market as a solution for vapers … and for the more than 40 million U.S. adult smokers that have yet to make the switch.
